Teen Course
General requirements for getting your driver's license in the state of Ohio:
Step 1. Attend the state required 24 hours of classroom instruction (SIGN UP HERE.)
  1. To begin your classroom instruction, your age must be at least 15 years and 5 months.
  2. Classroom instruction is broken into six, 4-hour classes, labeled A through F.
  3. Classes A-E may be taken in any order, consecutively, or spread out to conveniently fit your schedule. Class F must be your last class due to the final exam.
  4. Choose weekday or weekend classroom instruction, with 13 classroom locations available.
  5. Practice tests will be given in class to prepare you for your temporary test.
Step 2. Get your temporary license (can be done prior to classroom instruction.)
  1. To get your temporary license, your age must be at least 15½.
  2. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when you go to the testing station.
  3. Take your birth certificate and social security card to the testing station.
  4. The Ohio Treasurer will charge you a fee of $22.00*.
Step 3. Take the state required 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.
  1. To begin behind-the-wheel training, you must have your temporary license.
  2. The 8 hours of Behind-the-wheel training can be taken in 2, 3, or 4-hour lessons.
  3. Lessons are offered any day of the week, 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  4. You can choose an automatic or manual transmission vehicle.
  5. The instructor will pick you up and drop you off at any location that is convenient for you.
  6. In addition to the training that AAAA provides, the State of Ohio also requires that Minors drive with a parent or guardian for at least 50 hours with 10 of those hours being driven at night.
  7. We train you for the driving test, and the maneuverability test.
Step 4. Get your driver's license!
  1. To take the test for your driver's license, you must be at least 16 years old.
  2. Take your temps packet, your AAAA Driver Training Certificate, and your 50 hour affidavit to the testing station.
  3. Our hope is that you will be very comfortable in our cars and many people may choose use one of our cars for your driver's test. Many find that it is much easier to do the maneuverabilty in a car that you have practiced maneuverabilty in.
Price: AAAA has a tradition of excellence, it is our policy that you do not have to pay anything until you are halfway through our program and completely satisfied.
